Walt Wetherington, Fearless Leader
Walt started playing guitar in the way back of the 1960's and he hasn't looked back since. In 1977, he made
the leap into the crazy world of being a full-time musician, playing with his first professional group,
Breckenridge, a huge regional success. Since then, he has played for other successful groups like The
Chillbillies and Gavinheart. He also did two local, fill-in gigs with George Strait. (Yes, THE George Strait) and
has jammed with Bo Diddley.
His eclectic style crosses all types of genre: blues, rock, country, Southern rock and contemporary Christian
rock He is also an expert (and artiste) sound engineer and lent his talents to top artists such as Tanya Tucker,
Atlanta Rhythm Section, Bo Diddly, Gregg Allman Band, JD Walter, and Bill Lyerly. He opened Walt's Guitars
and Pro Audio in 2000. Beyond the mundane business matters, Walt also manages the pro audio services. He's
been teaching for 30 years and offers lessons in guitar (acoustic and electric) and bass., teaches guitar
(electric and acoustic) and bass. Walt personalizes his lessons according to the abilities, needs, and desires of
the individual student. He works with his students to perfect their technique, set goals and develop their own
style. Walt currently plays guitar and sings for The Backyard Boogie Band. Instruments and equipment of
choice include Fender Strats, Fender Rivera amps, Curt Mangan strings and Dunlop picks.
Jordan Magoon, Finger Pickin' Good
Jordan picked up his first guitar at the tender age of four years old. Now, at the ripe old age of 18, he's been a part of the Walt's Guitars and Pro Audio
team for over three years. He's been teaching guitar and bass for the past two years. He specializes in blues-based rock’n roll and finger picking.
Jordan provides an amazingly high level of expertise that is surprising for his young age. His students, range in age from 10 to 40+ and say he's patient,
but driven to help them achieve the results they want. Using a methodology inspired by his teacher, Walt Wetherington, each student receives their
instruction based on their individual needs and what style they desire to play. Jordan plays Gibson guitars and uses Vox amplifiers, D’Adarrio strings,
Dunlop picks. He plays with the Rhyebirds a blues based rock band.
Jordan personalizes his lessons according to the abilities, needs, and desires of the individual student. He works with his students to perfect technique
and set goals.
